A garment woven from silk produced using 1.2 million golden orb spiders is on display at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. The quilt is finished with images of plants and flowers embroidery designs and it took total 6000 hours, this bright yellow is the natural color of spider silk.

This is a project that has been tested for seven years in the wild ocean island of Madagascar. The spiders have been trained to weave the silk and create beautiful pieces of art. The quilt is made from the golden orb spider silk produced using 1.2 million golden orb spiders. which produces one of the strongest natural fibers in the world.
Trained handlers are used to collect silk from spiders. In each day handler used to handle 24 spiders to and harnessed in specially conceived silking contraptions and returned to the wild at the end of the day.
Golden orb spiders are small and yellow, but they pack a punch when it comes to silk. The spiders can produce up to five different types of silk that are all super strong and durable. Their silk is so tough that people have even used it for bulletproof vests.
