Bittersweet Victory on Woman’s World Cup

The Spanish women’s soccer team managed to win the World Cup 2023 by defeating the England women’s team after a tough match. The finals were held at Sydney on 20th August.

The England team had no chance to score single goal during the game. 23-year-old Real Madrid star Olga Carmona, also the captain to the team scored the winning goal with a left-footed strike in the 29th minute.

Although Olga Carmona led the Spanish women’s football team to win the World Cup, she did not get a chance to celebrate the World Cup victory due to a sad news that came within minutes of winning the World Cup. The Spanish soccer federation informed about her father’s death to her.

Her father had passed away before two days to the final. Her mother and relatives came to the finals and decided not to declare the incident till the end of finals.

However, Olga managed to participate in normal at the trophy presentation.

She got emotional on this sad news and tweeted (X) with a shot of kissing medal “And without knowing it, I had my Star before the game started,” “I know that you gave me the strength to achieve something unique. I know that you were watching me tonight and that you are proud of me. Rest in peace, dad.”
